PugSpeak Pugs of the Month - November and December

Meet Sarge and Rascal - November and December 2009
Thu, 29 Oct 2009 08:00:00 CDT
Pug mom, Faith Sepcic of Katy, TX shares this story of two amazing little pugs:
Rascal, age 6 and Sarge, nearly 20 years old, were both rescued by Faith and her husband, Richard. Rascal came to the Sepcics at 4 weeks old and had deformed eyes and could not walk on his feet. With the care of a wonderful vet and round-the-clock home care, Rascal has become a normal pug with some manageable medical limitations.
About a year after Rascal was adopted, the Sepcics searched for a very old and sick pug and found Sarge. Sarge was 15, blind, had bad teeth, crippled back legs, an ear infection, a respiratory infection, and a heart issue.
The Sepcics took Sarge to their vet as well as an opthomologist and Sarge received round-the-clock care. With love, devotion, and care, Sarge has turned a corner. He walks and has learned to trust. Faith says Sarge is a kind, sweet spirit. Sarge will turn 20 in late December and has been given a new lease on life!
Faith would also like to thank her vet, Dr. Abbey Banzhof and Abbey's father, Dr. Ken Banzhof of Maple Hills Vet Hospital for providing dedicated and superlative care to her boys. Both vets love pugs and all pets and it shows!
A Note From PugSpeak: Faith, thank you for sharing Rascal and Sarge's stories. Rascal and Sarge are two amazing little boys! We need more people in the world like you and your husband who give second chances and endless love to their pugs!
